Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!
Dear Cheyenne Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Cheyenne Elementary! Whether you are returning to our school family or joining us for the first time, we are excited to have you with us. At Cheyenne, we believe in Sunny Days and Bright Futures, and we are committed to helping every child learn, grow, and succeed.
Our mission is to build a strong community where every child feels safe, supported, and empowered. We focus on developing the whole child through Knowledge, Character, and Leadership while providing high-quality, research-based instruction.
Learning and Growing
One of our highest priorities is literacy. Our teachers use instructional practices aligned with the Science of Reading and provide students with targeted instruction based on their individual needs. Through whole-group instruction, small-group support, intervention, and enrichment, we work to ensure that every child develops the skills and confidence needed to become a successful reader.
We also believe that learning goes beyond academics. We want our students to develop the character, confidence, and leadership skills they need to thrive both in and out of school.
The Cheyenne House System
A special part of the Cheyenne experience is our House System. Every student and staff member belongs to one of four houses: Altruismo, Nukumori, Protos, or Sollevare. Throughout the year, students build relationships across grade levels, participate in House activities, earn points, and celebrate their accomplishments together.
Each House represents values that help define the Cheyenne community:
- Altruismo – House of Givers: generosity, kindness, and service
- Nukumori – House of Kindness: empathy, care, and support
- Protos – House of Success: leadership, excellence, and integrity
- Sollevare – House of Rising Above: encouragement, positivity, and perseverance
The House System is more than friendly competition. It helps students develop teamwork and leadership while creating a strong sense of belonging, connection, and school spirit.
