Announcements – Monday, February 2, 2026 

Happy February everyone. Today we recognize the start of Black History Month and 100 years since the first Black History Month was recognized in 1926. 

Today is also the start of Counselor Appreciation Week and we thank our counselors for all that they do for our students and our school. Make sure that you thank your counselor when you see them. It is also a PRIDE recognition day for our school, focused on the D in pride - Dedicated - which means being committed to doing your best in the classroom, on the court, and everywhere you spend your time.  The media center February contest starts today 2-2-26 and runs through 2-13-26. Guess the book by the first line. Stop by the bulletin board outside the media center, scan the QR code to make your guesses. Winners and prizes awarded after mid-winter break. 

The Science Olympiad team competed in the Canton Invitational this weekend. The team placed 21st out of 42 teams. Notable placings were:

Congratulations also to Gracyn Carrier who reached 1000 career points for the Big Reds Girls Varsity Basketball Team - an amazing accomplishment. 

There will be a meeting for all students and their parents in the cafeteria today February 2nd at 6:30 pm for any boys interested in playing Lacrosse this spring. A flyer with additional information is attached. 

There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting on Wednesday, February 3rd at 6:30am in Room 227.

 Relay for Life of Clinton Township and Southeast Macomb County is hosting their annual Festival of Pizza Wednesday, February 4th in the Cafeteria from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.  Tickets are $10 and include a variety of choices from 12 different local pizzerias (possibly more), with all proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society.  Sample pizza from any or all the vendors, then vote for your favorite!  Thie flyer is attached listing who has confirmed their participation at this point.  When purchasing your ticket at the door, please either mention the name Lynne Perryman or Team “Tom’s Girls”. 

Today’s College visit is Rochester University. Stop by their table during lunch. 

Reminders and Upcoming Events: 

Students and staff can get a 10% discount when showing your school ID at Penn Station. Also, please see the flyer for a SANP fundraiser night at Penn Station  Wednesday, February 3rd. 

The MAC Principals’ Association is proud to announce that it will be offering three (3) $1,000 MAC Leadership Scholarships to our 2026 graduates. The Class of 2026 Party Expo will be Thursday, February 12 at 6 PM in our cafeteria. It's a great way to get ready for your graduation party and for others to support the Senior All Night Party. See the flyer for more details.
