Coalition Teen Council is accepting membership applications are due today. A QR code for the application is posted outside room 161 or you can email Mrs. Lemley. CTC spreads awareness about substance use, mental health, and suicide prevention.
CURRENT National Honor Society members: Our first meeting is Tuesday, September 16 at 6:45am in the auditorium Students interested in joining the National Honor Society: Eligible students were sent an email from Mrs. Garcia on September 3rd with information on the application process. Applications are due September 16.
The Student Athletic Advisory Committee will have its first meeting on Tuesday, Sept 9th at 2:15 in the cafeteria. The only requirement is that you must play a sport. Any questions, please see Dr. Schihl in the athletic office.
Robotics will be meeting today. See Mr. Kohl with questions.
Remember that only clear backpacks are allowed during the school day. All other backpacks must be in lockers. Teachers may send you back to your locker if you show up with a non-clear backpack. Continuing this could also result in consequences.
Also remember, you must have your student ID card to leave the cafeteria for the bathroom or school store. To leave for other locations, you must have a pass.
Reminders If you are driving to school, you will need to purchase a parking pass and park in the student lot only. The link to purchase a pass is included in the announcements: Parking Pass. If you have already purchased a parking pass, you can pick it up in the main office.

That email also included an "All About Lunch" document that tells you everything you need to know about lunch time. You must have your student ID to use the restroom or go to the school store, and a pass to leave to go to a classroom or the media center, and there is no eating in the media center or any hallways.

Seniors: if you ordered an official Senior Class t-shirt, we will have our final distribution day tomorrow during all lunches.If you miss distribution, you can also get your shirt at Senior Sunrise on Friday.
If you are interested in being in our musical, Tuck Everlasting, go to the 10/12 building choir room today after school for auditions. If you missed the informational meeting, you can still come today. Everyone is welcome and will have a spot in the show. You can learn the audition material when you get there. We hope to see you there!

You may notice that the hallways are very crowded around the center stairs. You might be better off using the stairs at the end of the B, C, or D hallways. Give those a try. And remember, when the 2 minute bell rings, you need to be moving toward your next class.

Announcements – Wednesday, September 3
Picture Day is today. All students are expected to get their picture taken, whether you are buying pictures or not. You will get a student ID. You must have an ID in the cafeteria, in the media center, and at sporting events. The picture form is attached for those wishing to purchase.
If you are interested in being involved with our school musical, Tuck Everlasting, as a performer on stage, please come to the CVHS 10/12 choir room 170 after school today, from 2:30-3:30 for an informational meeting to learn more about it and to see if it is a good fit for you! This is open to all students 9-12th grade! Everyone has a spot in our show – we do not cut! If you don’t know where to go, ask a teacher for directions to the choir room. We hope to see you there!

Today’s college visit is from University of Detroit Mercy. Stop by their information table in the cafeteria during all lunches. Each day I'll share some reminders about our daily routine and expectations:
- The A door opens at 6:30. Students arriving between 6:30 and 6:55 must report to the cafeteria.
- The D and F doors open at 6:55.
- Breakfast is available from 6:30 – 7:05 (Students must be in line by 7:05).

First Day of School
Announcements – Tuesday, September 2 Good morning CVHS. Each day we will begin with an opportunity to say the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a reading of announcements. For the pledge, you are encouraged to stand and face the American flag as I lead you in the pledge.
