Jaguar Days
Jaguar Day for the 2026-2027 school year will be in August. (Date TBD) On this day, students will have an opportunity to do the following:
- Get pictures taken for yearbook and school IDs.
- Submit online forms. (More info coming regarding these online forms via email over the summer.)
- Receive Student Agenda.
- Turn-in immunization forms. (7th graders only!).
- Get schedule, tour building and practice opening locker.

Jaguar Jaunt Business Donations 2021/2022
The 2022-2023 Jaguar Jaunt took place on Friday, October 7, 2022 and was a huge success! Thank you to all of the parents, family members and businesses that contributed to the success of the fundraiser. We appreciate you all!!
The Jaunt is Seneca's primary school-wide fundraiser and a fun event for our students, staff and families! Funds raised are used to support Student Activities throughout the current school year - without your support, we would not be able to provide the many opportunities to students that we offer.
Looking for other ways to support your favorite Jaguar??? Here are a couple other fundraiser options that are super easy!!
Kroger Rewards - If you shop at Kroger, your shopping can support Seneca. Simply sign up on the Kroger Community Rewards Website, select Seneca Middle School when you enroll and Seneca will receive money every time you shop! Note-You must renew this every year in the spring.
Disabled American Veterans Recycle Bin - Seneca receives $50 for every full bin and all items go to the Disabled American Veterans (a non-profit organization located in Westland). Our bin is located in the parking lot on the north side of the building. They need clothes, shoes, toys, and small household appliances.

Dear Parent,
You are so important to your child's success in school and beyond. Here are some key ways to be an active participant in your child's education.
- Use PowerSchool (Parent Portal) and SchoolMessenger
- Use the agenda
- Check Teacher Schoology Pages
- Call or email with questions or concerns beginning with the teacher
- Talk to your child about school and look at his or her work
- Help your child to study for tests
- Expect your child to read at home (for 20 minutes per day)
- Ensure regular and on time attendance (which means 10 or fewer absences and tardies)
Please monitor your child on social media:
Students are not allowed to text other students or use social media at school. It is very important that parents who allow their children to text and use social media monitor this use. Often students make bad decisions when texting or using social media. We encourage parents to contact the Macomb County Sheriff if their child is a victim of harassment through texting or social media. The school will not monitor this out of school behavior.

- Out of school misconduct resulting from social media will not be addressed by the school and should be referred to the Macomb County Sheriff.
Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)
CAC is an opportunity for you and other parents to meet with the principal to share questions, concerns, and ideas and to keep informed about current issues in our school. Attendance and Absent Work
How we educate our students is constantly evolving. Education today is not about sitting and listening to a teacher give information. It is about much more than worksheets or the questions at the end of the chapter. It involves students in active participation, collaboration, and discovery. When students are absent from school they miss these opportunities to learn. Teachers can make students and parents aware of the learning targets and assignments that they missed, but they cannot recreate the lesson and the learning. This is why attendance at school is so important. It is also why it is difficult for teachers to provide work to students who were, or will be, absent due to illness, vacation, or other reasons.
Students and parents can access information through teachers' Schoology pages. Any make-up work that is assigned must be completed within the same number of school days that were missed. While teachers will provide support to students who have been absent, students should also understand that they will need to do some work independently using resources including, but not limited to, classmates, the Clinton-Macomb Public Library free online tutoring, Khan Academy and YouTube.
In summary:
- When students are absent from school they miss opportunities for active participation, collaboration, and discovery.
- All absent work should be requested on the day that a student returns to school from an absence.
- Before that point, students and parents can access information through teachers' websites.
- Any make-up work that is assigned must be completed within the same number of school days that were missed.
- Students will need to do some work independently using available resources.
- Teachers may give work prior to vacation at their discretion.

Behavior Expectations
JAGS = Just Choose Kind, Academic Focus, Gotta Be Responsible and Safe
The JAGS Everywhere Expectations are expected behaviors for the classroom, hallway, bathroom, cafeteria, and everywhere.
The JAGS Behavior Expectation Matrix includes "Everywhere Expectations" and behavior expectations specific to the classroom hallway, bathroom, and other areas.
Hero in the Hallway Bullying Prevention Program
In 2010, Seneca Middle School initiated a program entitled Hero in the Hallway. The purpose of the program is to establish a positive and respectful school climate whereby anti-bullying behavior is encouraged, supported and rewarded. Hero in the Hallway is about hope, power and positive change. It educates the bystander to stand up and speak out against incidents of bullying and harassment. Hero in the Hallway supports and empowers the victim to know that they are not alone and they can expect the bullying behavior to end. If you are a victim of bullying, contact your counselor or an adult you trust right away.

PaySchools
PaySchools allows parents to pay for school fees online. Parents will submit fees for athletics, field trips, clubs and more using one of the PaySchools systems. Please use the links below to access the appropriate PaySchools system.
Click PaySchools Central for Seneca Athletics, field trips and other miscellaneous fees.
Click PaySchools Events for other Seneca activities that may include club fees, choir tickets, band events, some field trips and more. **Please Note: Once on the website you will need to "search" to find the Seneca events in the system by typing SENECA in the organization box.
Office 365 (Students)
Students will have access to a Chippewa Valley Schools email. This is part of our new Office 365 program, a cloud based system for working and collaboration. Eventually students will have access to cloud based storage, collaboration sites and Office Web Apps which will allow them to work In Office programs such as Word and PowerPoint from anywhere with internet access.
For the moment, students have access to an entire Outlook mailbox. Not only do they have email for communication, they can also take advantage of the calendar and task list features. Click below for additional information.
